All About Direct Mail Postcard Marketing

Direct mail postcard marketing isn't a fancy new way to market your business, but it can be extremely effective if done right. In fact, I once built a large network marketing business almost entirely through the use of direct mail postal marketing. In a matter of months, I added hundreds of people to my organization as a result of postcard marketing. All you really need to do is plan it properly and follow these simple instructions.

First of all, you need to know your audience. You will greatly increase your chances of success if you know what kinds of people you are emailing. Are they business owners, healthcare professionals, elderly, young, married, single, etc? Maybe they all live in the same zip code or the same school district? You need to reduce this somehow to run a targeted campaign. Once you identify the demographic, you must identify a need these people have and how you can provide the solution.

Let's say you are an insurance agent and you can get a mailing list of all the people who recently bought a home in your surrounding area (these lists can be obtained online or through a title company or the county clerk). Now you can send a postcard to all of these people offering them a review of your current policy. It sounds like a simple idea, but as simple as it is, most people won't. So you should!

Finally, I would always provide a way for people to get more information without having to call me directly. Nobody wants to be sold or even talk to a seller. But if they can get information online or in a free recorded message, then they are much better able to respond. Toll-free numbers are great because they capture the phone number of the callers and then you can call them back.
