Black truffles and salt are similar in many ways but not in all. Since there are differences between the two, it is quite a challenge to decide what is best for your cooking.

Since making this flavor it has been referred to as a "black truffle" seasoning I decided to use this term in my recipes. This makes it an easy recipe to adapt to many types of recipes since the flavorings can be easily mixed together.
For this recipe, you will need about a pound of herb, a few cups of salt, and the flavorings. Keep in mind that the flavorings in this recipe can be found online or at your local health food store. I highly recommend you using a combination of these ingredients for the best results.
If you are only using dried herbs then keep them to a minimum. Fresh herbs will lend a richer and more intense flavor and will be more difficult to blend together.
Next, mix the herbs, the salt, and the flavorings in a large bowl. It is best to keep the mixture as even as possible or you may end up with a mixture that is too thick or too thin.
The next step in creating a truffle sea salt is to add your truffles to the mixture using your hands. In order to keep a uniform thickness of the truffle sauce, you will need to use a hand blender. Truffles can also be added using a mortar and pestle.
When using black truffle salt, you will also need to pay attention to the seasonings. You want to have the seasoning mixture as close to the top of the ingredients as possible. The more even the seasoning is the smoother the truffle sauce will be.
Making your own sea salt is definitely a way to add some variety to your meals. Not only will you be saving money but you will also be adding something special to your food.
